Flashed Glass

Flashed Glass is when a thin layer of other colors are applied to the surface of Mouth-blown Glass glass sheet. Most often this is clear, though any color base could be used. Flashed Glass is considered a Premium Glass due to the extra work it takes to make.

Uses

Flashed glass is often used as is for the extra expression it allows as it being Mouth-blown lets far more customization be done than what can be achieved with other glass types.

Another use is as a base for Carving as the top layer of color can be removed in part to create fades or entirely to show the base glass.

Alternative Creation

Flashed like glass can be made in a Kiln by Fusing a layer of powdered Frit to the surface of a base glass. Though this technically wouldn't be flashed glass.
