'''Flashed Glass''' is when a thin layer of other colors are applied to the surface of [[Mouth-blown Glass]] glass sheet. Most often this is clear, though any color base could be used. Flashed Glass is considered a [[Premium Glass]] due to the extra work it takes to make.

== Uses ==
Flashed glass is often used as is for the extra expression it allows as it being Mouth-blown lets far more customization be done than what can be achieved with other glass types.

Another use is as a base for [[Carving]] as the top layer of color can be removed in part to create fades or entirely to show the base glass.

== Alternative Creation ==
Flashed like glass can be made in a [[Kiln]] by [[Fusing]] a layer of powdered [[Frit]] to the surface of a base glass. Though this technically wouldn't be flashed glass.
